F1 Stamping Successful & F1 Approved. Few open questions on H4

Hi All, please help me with the query below. I am hoping someone for sure would be aware about these!

My wife was on H4 in USA and started college on H4. We recently traveled back to India where she had her fresh F1 appointment and her F1 got approved as well. She would be travelling back on F1 visa soon.

Questions:
1) Does F1 approval automatically void her H4 ( she had H4 till 2017 june and i was planning an extension in Jan 2017)
2) I am now filing for my H1b Extension as my current petition is valid till June 2017. Should i file for the extension of SELF or SELF & DEPENDENT ?
3) In future if she wants to come back to her H4 status, would i have to apply for her fresh H4 visa ?

Can some one give me positive and concrete answers so that i can be sure about my extension! Thanks in advance.

I am also in the same boat, we are travelling to india end of december and will be back by mid of Jan 2017, my spouse on h4 will complete first semester this month. We are thinking to file fresh F1 for her. Could you please tell me below answers

1. What all documents would require and what was your location for F1 Interview?

Yes F1 approval automatically void the status H4, may be they will cancel once you get passport

2) I am now filing for my H1b Extension as my current petition is valid till June 2017. Should i file for the extension of SELF or SELF & DEPENDENT ?
You don't need to file for her extension since your spouse has independent visa which is F1

3) In future if she wants to come back to her H4 status, would i have to apply for her fresh H4 visa ?
You need to submit f1 to h4 change of status which is easy.

If you can help me to have the documents collected for fresh F1 visa for my spouse will be really appreciated.

A checklist for F1 which i prepared is listed below

- Your passport (valid for at least 6 months after your entry into the U.S.)
- Your Form I-20 or DS-2019 (signed by you)
- Financial documents you used to qualify for your I-20/DS-2019 - All bank account verification letters on original bank's letter head. You can also take some past months bank statements with you.
- My W2 of past years
- My Tax filings of yester years
- My Employers bonafide letter of employment
- Latest pay stubs of at least 6 months
- My Latest I797A
- My Latest I94
- My latest Salary revisions letter if any
- Original College Acceptance letter on College Letter head
- Your Wife's GRE or TOEFEL Score card if applicable. If not applicable then a letter from college stating that the score was needed for the students admission and how did they deem her eligible for admission without GRE or GMAT or TOEFEL score.
- Copies of your wife's academic credentials - Degree of graduation or masters as may be applicable
- Any name change affidavits if applicable.
- SEVIS fee receipt
- Form DS-156, DS-157 and DS-158 (or DS-160) - found on the consulate's web site (which ever is applicable in your case)

Please note that this is an exhaustive list to make one feel safe. All that we need that day is - Passport, DS160 Confirmation, Appointment Confirmation, SEVIS Fee Receipt, I20(if asked to show then remember to take it back from the VO) and concrete financial documentation.

My wife had her interview scheduled at Delhi Embassy and she was not asked to show any documents. All she was asked about what was she going to study(MBA or MS), which College, where is this located. One may be asked many other questions so prepare well.
