Hi,
I am a student in the US and my F1 status is valid till June 2016. My future employer will file H1B application before April 1 but I will start working in Jul 2016 on OPT irrespective of the lottery results.
However, I am in a tricky situation as I have to travel to India (my home country) for an urgent need in May 1st week for about a week.
What are my options? Please explain what happens in case of both COS and Consular process. Also, is my travel plan dependent on whether I have gotten the H1B results before my travel dates.
