FNU -- Blank surname issue

Hi,

This forum has been immensly helpful in guiding me towards changing my name. I have managed to change the FNU issue on my passport and would like to know what to expect at the USCIS office. I am on OPT and am in NJ. I have an appointment in 2 weeks. Is it mandatory to get a court order from the county? If not, what are the other documents that the USCIS officers expect?
