Hi Everyone,
I am currently working on H1B Visa in San Francisco. My girlfriend got ad admit from Golden Gate University, San Francisco for her certification program and she is planning to come here in Fall 2017. She got an education loan approved by her bank, however, banks in India approve only 85% of the loans. Now, we need to arrange for the remainder of 15%.
The university requires the that the remainder amount to be immediately available in her account. However, at this point, her family cannot do that.
The other option I have is for me to sponsor her. However, I am concerned that if we do that, her i-20 would show me as a sponsor. And being a non-blood relative, it might reduce her chances of getting an F1. Additionally, it would mean that she is coming to the US not just for education. I am concerned that if her F1 Visa gets rejected, it might jeopardize her chances of H4 in future.
What all options do I have here?
