I had appeared for my F1 visa interview for my Fall 2017 admit on 19 May 2017 at the US consulate. My visa application has been placed in a pending status(administrative processing) and further documentation was requested to reach a final determination in my case.
On 15 June,2017, I received a mail from the consulate to drop my passport at a convenient CGI location near me to complete the administrative processing of my visa application. I had already submitted my passport to Kolkata VAC on 22 June 2017 and my status in the ceac portal was recently updated on 30 June but administrative processing is still being reflected in my status. All my friends who had been issued a 221(g) got their visa issued within 3 days after submitting the passport whearas am still stuck at this process. Can anybody tell me what is happening? Did they start a fresh admininstrative processing in my case? Should I try mailing them? Anysort of help would be much appreciated. I already booked airtickets and this delay is kind of bothering. Please help
