Travelling on OPT with infant

Hi, I am on OPT (yet to report my employer to USCIS - have time till sep 15th) and traveled to India with my son (1 year) who has Indian tourist visa till August 28th. I am travelling back to US on August 22nd but little concerned with what will happen with my son if I got rejected at port of entry! I understand that he has dual entry visa so can get back to india but can only stay in india till Aug 28th and cannot extend visa.
