Hi,
I have secured admission for Full time MBA program, and that would begin by mid-Aug 2018. My admission is under process, and i expect to receive my I-20 form from the university after the admission process is complete. As per US norms, i can travel to USA only 30 days before the start of the program, i.e in my case July 2018.
However, i intend to visit usa before that, specifically by 1st week of May '18 to attend a cousins function in USA. I want to use this chance to also explore the university more and get acclimitized to the university and the place. But i can go to USA in May only on B2 visa.
I want to know if i can apply for my F1 visa first, and then also apply for B2 visa? Can i hold 2 visa at a time?By when should i begin processing and applying for F1 and B2 visa? Would the visa officers cancel my F1, if i apply again for B2? I donot want to go with the option of chnaging status within USA, as that takes very ling time to process and that might delay my program. Please let me know how shud i proceed in this situation?
