Hello,
I am from Egypt, and I have an F1 visa (USA) which I got on December 2016 to do my master degree (in Maharishi University of Management). I was not able to travel immediately due to work stuff.
On July 2017, my wife, who is a lawyer, and my 3 year old son were denied visas under 214b.
The interview went more or less like:
VO: good afternoon
- good afternoon sir
VO: where will you go in the united states?
- the state of Iowa (and she gave him copies of my passport and visa)
VO: did your spouse travel to US or not?
- not yet
VO: did you travel before anywhere?
- no, sir
VO: who will pay for you?
- my spouse, and here is his bank statement.
VO: is your spouse studying or working?
- he works
VOafter writing on his computer) Sorry I'm not granting your visa request
- can I know the reason
VO: I am not convinced with accepting your visa
- can I apply again
VO: yes you can try again
- ok thank you
Note: I did not attend the interview.
Now I am going to travel in April 2018 and I am considering re applying for visas for my wife and son
I know we should have significant changes after our last denial.
The changes we have are:
1. We travelled to Europe (France and Italy) in November 2017
2. My wife will present her bank statement as she will pay for her travel. also I will help.
My question is: which has better chances of granting the visa, my family applying before I travel or after?
Thank you in advance.
