Travel on OPT EAD pending

hello,
i applied for OPT on jan 2 and waiting for EAD.Due to family emergency i need to travel to india asap. i will come back after my EAD approves and mailed to my usa address. is it advisable to travel under such circumstances . i might be expecting my EAD around april second week and my friend who comes to india in april bring it to me so that i will travel back to usa with OPT-EAD in hand. my question is

1. if i leave country will that effect my OPT EAD processing?
2. What are the chances of getting denied at immigration while on OPT.
