F1 visa extension with fiance holding H1b
Hello All,
My fiancee has applied for a renewal of her existing F1 visa for the same program and university. She is doing her PhD on immunology, her visa expired last year but I-20 valid till 2020. She received 221g form in both her first and present times of visa interview. I have also applied for the conversion of of my F1-OPT to H1b. We declared each other as Fiance/Fiancee in our respective DS-160s. Although we had our interviews on the same day, I have my case updated and received email from the consulate however she has not. It's already 6 weeks after the visa interview.
Is that normal? Please let me know if you think there is something that is causing the delay. To my experience F1 visa extensions do not take this long.
