Hello folks,
Need advice regarding which Consulate to choose from for my F1 visa. I'm an 35year old Indian passport holder and work for an IT company and have been employed in Singapore on a Employment Pass(topmost work permit) from the past 2years. I have been accepted in Northeastern University in Boston and need to apply for my F1 visa and have the option of either applying in US Consulate in Chennai(India) or Singapore. Can someone please advice me which of these two will have better chances of approval.
My concerns are
1. that the probability of an Indian passport holder applying for a F1 from Singapore will be almost nil and I do not want to become the easy scapegoat for rejection.
2. Chennai has a very long waiting period of 45days (compared to 7days in Singapore) which will be tough in case my first attempt gets rejected. Also Chennai will hoards of F1 applicants in time of the year will my overage(for a F1) might be an negative affect?
Looking forward to your suggestions
Thanks
Syman
