  • Applying for F-2 after living in the US for a year

    Hello,

I'm a graduate student on an F-1 student visa, just finished the first year of my MA, and afterwards I plan to continue here for my PhD.
A year ago my husband (then boyfriend) and I arrived here for my studies, but my husband had a working visa through a specific job he came to. He now quit his job, because it was horrible, and therefore lost his visa. We got married 4 months ago, so we assumed he can easily transfer to my visa, but now after reading some comments here we're getting worried.

We have as much financial support as we need from our families, but no significant incomes ourselves (we're both a few years under 30) We've been living together for 5 years.

Does anyone have any idea about whether or not we should be worried, or any advice on what to bring, what to say and what not to say in the interview?

    Thank you in advance!
