I had my F-1 visa interview today (July 24 2018) to study Computer Science, and the VO said my visa was approved, kept my passport, and said I'll receive it in a few days.
However, when I check my visa status in the CEAC website, it reads the following:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Administrative Processing
Application ID or Case Number: YYYY YYYY X
Case Created: 23-Jul-2018
Case Last Updated: 24-Jul-2018
Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. Please follow any instructions provided by the Consular Officer at the time of your interview. If further information is needed, you will be contacted. If your visa application is approved, it will be processed and mailed/available within two business days.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What does that mean? I thought Administrative Processing only occurred when you received 221(g), instead of when the VO says the visa is approved. Is that a big deal?
