Will OPT extension process terminates after taking CPT?

Hi,

I have applied for OPT extension and got a RFE. My initial 1 year OPT expired in June and had an additional 180 days i.e. till December. I am in the process of sending the RFE documents and as my OPT expires in December, I had applied for another college to get CPT (as I am currently working).

I have few questions:

1. If I apply for CPT, will my current OPT extension application terminates? or it continuous as usual?

2. If yes for above, will I be able to switch back to OPT from CPT once my OPT gets approved?

3. Can I travel back to my country on CPT? Does it have any issue during port of entry?

Your valuable suggestions would be much helpful in my situation.
