Chances of F1 for people with military service

Hi all :
I am from India. I am preparing to appear for an F1 Visa interview. In DS-157 form, we are required to mention if we have served in any military organisation before. My question is ...What are the chances of getting an F1 Visa for people with military service background who are willing to pursue a Graduate course now ?

Bear in mind that the application form is pretty universal...and I would believe its designed to gauge your political inclinations/affliliations. or also to gauge whether the required military service has been met...........unless on eis from an extremist state, then I dont think its any thing to worry about
