F2 visa -urgent help

Hi,

I worked in USA under J1(subjected to 2 yr home residency).I had my baby there and took US citzenship for her.I returned to india in may 2006 after my contract expired.My husband is in F1 visa.My application for F2 visa was rejected in chennai consulate under section 214(b).My husband will go on opt from this dec.pls help me reg what can be done?

Note:My Brother is also working in US under H1B.

Nothing can be done unless you wait the two years or obtain a waiver.

Sorry to hear that your visa was denied.
However, your home country residence (HRR) requirement may not have played a part in it.
The 2 year HRR states that you have to be in your home country for at least 2 years before you can be considered for a immigrant (and some other special types) of visas.By itself , it does not have any relation to your chances of getting a F2 visa. Try to collect documents and evidence to show that you plan to return to India; apply again and hope for the best.
