What if one applied for the Visa Lottery?
Hello, I'm about to apply for an F-1 visa ina few days, and I was wondering if anyone knew about this:
I applied for the Visa Lottery last year (officially called Diversity Immigrant Visa Program). Should I answer YES to this question on the ds156?:
-36. Has anyone ever filed an immigrant visa petition on yur behalf?
Because I technically only applied for the lottery, not for the visa...
I'm afraid answering NO if the correct answer is YES, because that would be lying.
But if I answer YES, I will be in trouble because the VO won't believe me when I say I'll only be going to study (which is true, ironically).
