OPT status

Hi

My OPT expires on july 31 2007 , i am applying for H1B in april ,

If H1B is approved , i can only work from oct 1st ,

what will be my status for 2 months , aug and september,

Will there be any problems for me i.e, what will be my status.Do i have to leave ?

Hey I do not know the answer to your question but if you could help me i will appreciate it . In my hotel they tell me i cant get an h1 B visa becuase is for managment positions only is that true?

Srikanth your OPT expires on July 31st 2007, which means you have another 60 days (grace-period) to leave the country. So you can legally stay till Sept 31st 2007? But I have heard make use of 55 days, do not make use of all of the 60 days. But during this grace-period one cannot work as per the law.
So after this 60 days you do not have a status and have to leave the country.
