Need Help..very urgent

hello,
i really some advice regarding my passport and visa.I am here in US on F1 visa.I dont have any last name in my passport .For some reasons my first name in visa was printed as FNU and my entire name was in last name.I need to change my passport and visa.I am very confused like should i change my passport first or my visa and what the procedure is.I even called up to the indian embassy but they didnt give me the right kind of information.I will be glad if anyone can help me,

the reason your first name was printed as fnu is coz in cases where the entire name appears in the given name section on the passport the us consulate while issuing a visa enters the entire name in the surname section and enters fnu in first name fnu means first name unused,its the normal procedure which they follow insuch cases so i guess u wont have much problems
