canad and us student visa immi help give suggestion

i have applied to universities in canada and usa i want to know can i apply for a canadian study permit and if i get it then later on if i want to apply for f1 for us will it create a problem if i am having a canadian visa but still not travelled to canada,also my entire name in my passport is mentioned in the given name section i dont mind the embassy writing fnu on my visa but i want to know will this create a problem later on suppose i want to change my program or something later on in usa
