  • Need FI-Visa but married to parmanent resident.

My wife is in the states as a parmanent resident. we got married 9months ago but am still in my homecountry. I want to join her but worried that I wont be allowed to study. so I got an I-20. Do I qualify for an FI student Visa?

If you have recieved an i-20, that is from a university..is that correct?
yes that is what you need for an F1.
Note that this is not a legal advice. Consult your immigration attorney for the best upto-date information.

If your wife is a Green card holder, that means it takes her couple of the years to take you to America. Now if you apply for the F1 visa , you will be asked about your marital status and your wife residing status in America. Obviously you do not risk to tell lie, on the other hand
You can not outsmart the government by applying for the F1 visa. Most likely your application will be rejected.
