My girlfriend is a graduate foreign student and we are considering marriage; I am a US citizen.
Reading thru the USCIS docs, they say that it is possible, in case my income is not sufficient, to supplement it with my girfriend's income, provided it comes from the US and it is continuing.
Unfortunately, my girlfriend does not have a US income, but she owns a home in her native country which she wants to sell and bring the funds to the US.
It is not clear that the USCIS would accept her ASSET instead of income, and as far as I can tell, they don't like bank accounts either, because they can be manipulated.
Anybody who has experienced such a situation and/or knows to resolve this problem?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
