  • H4 to F1 question

I came to US on H4 in April 2005. I requested for change of status from H4 to F1 in May'07 and can see on the USCIS website that my application has been approved yesterday and a notice sent to me, which I have yet to receive.

So does that technically mean I am on F1 now?
I guess I am a little confused because I attended school on H4 in summer.

What steps do I have to take to move to F1 from H4?
Does the school receive a notice too ?
If I do nothing , am I still on H4?

    Thanks!

To be on F1 visa.My guess is that you need to get back to your home country and get the F1 stamped and then re-enter.If the case is approved, Yes you are on F1 even though you may have not recieved anything. Just have the email or notice you recieved safe. Your school will issue a I-20. Contact "International Student Services" at your school.
Note that this is not a legal advice. Consult your immigration attorney for the best upto-date information.
