    Hello Kimmie,

Sorry, I do not have an answer for your question. But, i am sorry to bother you with mine. I think I am in the same situation as you. And I wold like your advice please. When you came to the USA, with a F1 visa you sign, surely, that you have the intend to return to your country right? did you apply for green card because you won the lottery? was there a problem when you change from F1 to permanent based on the fact that you are supposed to return to your home country? Well, I leave in the USA under a F1 VISA and I've just won the lottery. My lawyers say that i rather come back to France for the interview at the consular than adjust status in the USA because I might not get the green card. They say: If I were to adjust status in the US, I could be denied based on the fact that I really entered with the pre-conceived intent to obtain permanent residence and not return to France. I know that is true for J1 visa but not for F1 visa. So, could you please confirm? Do you know people who change from F1 to permanent without a problem? is that a complicated process? T
Thank you for your time. Meanwhile, I will find too the answer to your question.
