Renew F1 visa

Hello,

I am a graduate student doing PhD in the University of Toledo (Ohio, USA). I wished to renew my F1 Visa before may this year as it expires in june 2007. I wanted to know whether I can get my Visa renewed in Canada instead of going to India( my home country).

Are there any additional risks involved if i go to Canada instead of my home country. Is the procedure any different. If so what is the difference.
