I am planning to apply for a F-1, student visa to the U.S. I have also applied to the 2009 DV- visa lottery. Will there be any issues. Can the visa officer know that I have applied for the visa lottery. My concern is that they might think I am a potential immigrant and deny the student visa. Please help, thanks.

There is a thing called Computer and database. VOs can access and request Additional Administrative processing if they have some suspicion. Don't try to outsmart the system.
I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.

see, i believe there is a misinterpretation for applicants as well or/for "the homeland security", i mean embassies, consulates or some where should be posted something like, if you are applying for these visa, don’t apply for these other type of visa, neither DV and vice versa. my case right now at getting the visa is not to stay illegally or change status or nothing like that, without any hope DV just for fun and maybe, maybe in a billion numbers shows up something but is not to try to fool or being smart **** with the embassies or Homeland Security even that out there is are millions that they try to…Last edited by artie; 04-23-2008, 06:30 PM.
