Student Visa que

Hi,

I plan to work as an actuarial intern in a company in New York City for 6 months starting January 2008. This is mandatory work-experience for my undergraduate university course in Dublin, Ireland. After the six months, I will return to Dublin for my final year at unversity. I'm just wondering is it a student visa I would need to get?
