Visa Query

I've applied for an F-1 visa. I paid the HDFC fees and also confirmed the
visa appointment using my old passport. After registering, I applied for
splitting my first and last name in my passport and was issued a new passport number.

Now, will the previously booked appointment be invalid ?

I believe you will have to start all over again.
