Travel on OPT with spouse, while applied for H1B

Hi everyone,

I have some query regarding travel on F1/F2, which is a rather unique situation. I would appreciate if someone can advise me.

My wife is currently in India and has a F2 visa, which expires on 15th June. She just got her visa a few weeks ago and has never travelled to the US before. She was supposed to join me in next couple of weeks, but unfortunately due to some pressing family matters, she is unable to travel right now. I graduate out of my school on 18th May 2008. I was wondering if it is possible for me to travel to India and bring her here then?

There are a few issues that are on my mind:

1. When I graduate in May, I will be on OPT. Is it advisable to travel on OPT? and, is it advisable to bring a dependent on OPT.
2. My Wife’s visa is valid only till June 15th. Will this be an issue if we decide to travel to the US in June beginning. Will she need an extension to her visa validity?
3. My work starts on 15th July. How long before the start of my work am I allowed to travel to the country supposing I travel out of the country?
4. My company will file an application for my change of status to H1 on April 1st. What issues will that introduce to my travel plans?
5. There can be two scenarios, either my H1B gets approved or not. What are the pros and cons of either scenario, and will I need another visa for my wife to travel?

hey, i have a general question
I am on OPT till Jan 2009, i have to go to india in aug-sep. My employer filing for my h1B this year.
Can i go to india in aug-sep after my h1B gets aproved ?
Can i get my visa stamped in Aug-sep and re-enter Usa on or before OCT1?
