Hello everyone,
My background:
I am a 24-year-old citizen and a soon to be certified medical doctor (June 2, 2008) of the Dominican Republic. I have been given an I-20 to study at an intensive English course for one year in Madison, Wisconsin on June 19, 2008. My parents are legal permanent residents of the United States. My parents applied for an immigration Visa on my behalf in 1996. My 20 year old sister was just given a green card in June 2006. As a result of this same I-130 and in July of 2007 I received the following notification regarding that application: “The I824 APPLICATION FOR ACTION ON AN APPROVED APPLICATION OR PETITION was transferred and is now pending standard processing at a USCIS office.”
My Goals
-Study English in US
-Secure high enough score on TOEFL to get admitted to a United States -Medical College MD/Phd program.
-Return to the Dominican Republic to study the MCAT with my new English expertise.
-Secure high enough score on MCAT to get a scholarship to a United States Medical College MD/Phd program.
-Attend medical school as a MD/Phd in nuero/medical science.
-Start medical laboratory in the Dominican Republic.
I have heard nothing since this notification and I don’t want to put my future goals on hold because of something my parents did 12 years ago.
Thank you,
TT
