F1 renewal : ties to India

I came to US to do masters at xxx univ and continued with the PHD program. My F1 visa has expired and I need to go to the consulate in kolkata for a new F1. Things have changed for me personally since I first came here. I have got married(spouse works in the univ on H1b) and have a yr old daughter who is a US citizen.

Q1: I am concerned about showing ties to India, I can only show that mine as well as my husband's families are in India and we intend to return after I complete my PHD. Any ideas ?

Q2: list of docs : endorsed I20, letter from dept and advisor, transcript, bank statements, tax returns. Am I missing anything ?

I am in the same situation like you, but only thing is I dont have a kid and my wife has changed her visa starus from F2 to F1 in US. Now, I intend to go to India but I am scared because my visa got expired in dec 2005. Did you get visa?
