  • Urgent help needed!!!

    Hi everyone,
I was previously an international student.
Immediately I arrived U.S, I got my SSN within 1 week. My friend and I got employed in a factory with our SSN even though we were foreign students. We worked for about 6 months and then quit when we knew it was very risky to do so.
Luckily my school didnot know of this.
I completed my studies, got approved for OPT which I completed. My H1B was recently approved.
I'm planning to go to canada or mexico for H1B stamping but I do not know if there is any risk involved.I'm scared that U.S embassy abroad might have information about this off campus employment because I used my SSN.

I will appreciate any useful information. I desperately need to travel home for my dad's burial in 2 weeks.I'm indeed sad and depressed!!!!

    Anyone pls help!!!!!

You are in a mess as DS156 asks about any violations on your visa and off campus employment is a violation.

If you don't mention it and lie on DS156, if caught, it will be material misrepresentation banning entry forever.

If you do mention it, VO may/maynot issue the visa. You are in a mess.

      Re:urgent help needed

I know I'm in a mess regarding this violation.

What is the risk that I will be caught if I choose to lie on the DS 156 about this visa violation??? That is my concern. I think I'm ready to lie if I'm reasonably convinced that I wont be caught.

I desperately need to visit my home country for my dad's burial.

I appreciate your time replying my initial message.

Hope to hear from you again.

Sorry to hear about your situation. I am not going to suggest anything illegal. Use your own discretion. If not today, it could be unearthed at some other time later during GC which will cause more mess.

Lying on visa application is illegal.
