  • prior entry in US - F1 visa

    Hello,

Reporting date on my I-20 is Aug 25 2008. I know that on F1 visa one can only enter US within 30 days prior to the reported date on I-20.

I just want to confirm if it is ok to enter US on Jul 27 2008? Or should I make it 1-2 days later?

Why I am asking this is as I don't want to reach US over the weekday and 27th is sunday.

    Thanks!

Count your 30 days from the date and if it is within the allowed period, you can enter. There should be another weekend after the 27th that you can enter if it is borderline case.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.

      hello priyanka,

it looks like you received your F1 visa. Can you please provide me more details like did you prepare the documentation by yourself or took the help of any agency?
What questions were asked during the interview?
What program and which school are you going to?
What is the process of applying for F1 - 2nd attempt?

I'm asking these as my brother's F1 was rejected. His classes for summer begin on may 27th and i'm thinking of trying one more time.

Thanks a lot for your help!

oh ok, thx Priyanka...from your post, seemed like you got ur visa.

Do you know the procedure of applying for F1 2nd time at the consulate? Is it dropbox or appearance at the interview?
