  • F2 to F1 transfer - urgent hepl needed

    Hello
I am right on F2 visa and I m in US...I have got admission in Boston school and want to get my status changed. My school is beginning on July 28, so approx. two and a half months left.
1)Do I have enough time left to apply for my change of status?
    2) I am an Indian citizen...Can I go to Canada and get my stamping done?
    3) My husband has already taken loan of $90,000 for his studies in dental school....i also have to take loan for my studies..will that be any problem in getting my visa stamping done?

    plz help asap
    Thanks in advance

    1. Probably but you are getting close to risking it.
    2. Yes. As you have already proved non-immigrant intent by getting a F2 visa, you can change to F1 by getting a visa stamp.
    3. You need to show ties to home country and also have the funds for the education. You cannot say your husband will support you as he is supposed to go back after the dental school as per the VO.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.
