Getting F1 while H1B is in process of extension

I had my H1B expired on March 30th and it is under the extension process right now. Will that cause a problem for my F1? The choice for extension was not actually in my control as it was desired and required by my employer that I work after March. Morever, I have received an 'Request For more Information' - RFE status on my H1B extension. I have sent my RFE documents and the extension process would be on its way soon.

Will it be considered as a 'lack of definite purpose of entry to US'? Will this be an hindrance for my F1?

Did you already take an appointment? If so, when did you book the slot? I'm trying to book one, but dates are not available since a couple of weeks. Please let me know.
