F1 Visa status and GC

Hi,

I'm currently in H1B and my wife is on H4 dependendt visa. As per our
plan, my wife is joing school in Sep and converting to F1 status.

In a sudden change, my employer wants to start my GC processing.No step
has been done so far.

My queries:

1. Do we proceed with my wife status change to F1?
2. When can I include my wife to my GC process?
3. are there any complications, if she is in F1 status (as elligibity says
you are not going to be immigrant)?

4. should she stay in H4 and continue the studies as GC process
will be easier?


Kinldy reply at the earlist as I have to reply to my employer.

Wife comes into the GC process as an immigrant only after filing I485. Until then, you can go ahead with your Labor and I140.

Thanks. When I file I485 , if my wife is in F1 status, can I be able to include her ?

Or she should convert to H4 or apply on H1 on her own ?
