    Search for I-539.
    Check out H1 FAQs first!

      Hi,

If I apply (I-539) USCIS its takes long time.
Can I go to Mexico for F1 stamping? Is there any problems.

      Please suggest me.

      Thanks,

Quickest would be stamping. Entry can happen 30 days before semester start date only and H4 will likely be cancelled upon F1 approval. So plan stamping date based on this.

I539 takes a while, however you can start based on H4 status initially and then change to F1 upon COS approval. Safe bet as F1 visa stamp requires one to prove ties to home country and third country consulate could ask you to go to home consulate for stamping.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.
