  • F1 rejection - try again?

I was rejected yesterday for my F-1 visa. The interview seemed to go fine until she asked me about my sponsor. I told her my sponsor agreed to give me a load and that then I had a year after I finish my program to save some money and then 2 years to pay it back. She said she didn't she how I could pay back my sponsor.

My salary is $500 USD/month but I make another $500 USD/month in freelance work. The amount on my I-20 is $18,900 USD. However, I forgot to mention (I was really nervous):
    - that I will be living with my sponsor for free so I only have to pay back $8,900
    - that I have $4,000 in savings (though I had the bank statement with me)
    - that my company will be paying for $3000 of my tuition

In the end, I only have to pay my sponsor back $8,900 - (4,000 savings + 3,000 company) = about $4000 (because of travel costs, etc.)

Do you think I can apply again and show the following documents (letter from company saying they sponsor me for $3000 and will give me a raise when I return, $4,000 in savings, letter from sponsor saying I will be living with them free of charge) and maybe get approved, or is it not worth it to try?

The other documents I had are:
    - all necessary forms
    - letter from company stating they are holding my position (it is a 1 year certificate program)
    - documents from my company showing employment over 6 years, pay stubs, etc.
    - credit card statement
    - social security and life insurance statement
    - sister's pay stub to show family ties

All of my family lives in Ecuador and I have never been to the US before.

    Thanks for any help!
