  • switch from H4 to F1

    Hi ,

My wife has a I-20 from a graduate school in US. We are looking to switch her visa from H4 to F1. I know we have to use form 539 and a copy of the following
    Visa (both of us)
Passport Id page (both of us)
    I-797(mine)
    I-94 (her's)
    I-20 (Sevis)
Receipt of payment of Sevis fee
    Bank Statement
Check for $195 payable to US

my question is do we need anything else ?
Some online groups I checked mentioned some sort of letter I have to write
if so what kind of a letter is this ? Also is there anything else I need ?

I am in a similar situation. University's International office has taken $ 300 as USCIS fee check in the name of Homeland security.
Regarding letter, it is from the candidate they ask writing why you prefer F1 instead of H4 for studying...first stating her history how she entered, who supported her any other change of status...... you need F1 which will help in getting work related job which will help in study.....

    Hope it will help!
