  • F-1 Student having hard time living in USA

    Hi!
This is completely personal problem. But for me now there is no body here in US except to approach you guys.
I graduated from one university recently and after studying there for 1 year and now I got to enroll in another university if I want to stay here as F-1 student and pursue further education until I reach such a level where I can legally work for some organization.

    Here is my problems:
    1) I did not submitt to authority where I just graduated from, because I do not want to live like a slave/robot, ACTING for the sake of PLEASING PEOPLE.
So, they just kicked me out and gave me final warning like:
Transfer to another university with in 1 month other wise we are going to terminate your F-1 status.
    2) I came to LA to see what have to do next. I applied for H-1B jobs in oil field because my background is Chemical Eng. in B.Tech & M.Tech. But it did not work. Simultaneously I applied for another university so that I can keep staying here as filltime F-1 student.
But the problem now is I am staying in a friend's home temperorily and I got to leave his home very soon, may be in a couple of days. That will be a honor to Him.

    My current situation:
I can't go home in India because, I came here after spending a lot of money and after telling parents so many good things about US. I promised to take care of my sister's marriage and my brother's education and all the loans I got from the private people for my college expenses.
In this position I can't go home and I have no where to go here in US.

Can you guys suggest me what to do?
Do you have some idea where I can go and have shelter for couple of days and receive some help.
I don't have Return ticket to India, if I have that one, then there is no problem, I can go home and live there atleast a simple life.
    Please kidly respond,
    Your brother,
    Chinna.

What does this mean? Why did you not declare your prior University details on the application of the new university? It is a requirement that you declare every place of study and can cause problems.

        Hi!
I declared the prior university details with email and they are communicating with each other.
But the funniest thing here is they cast me out not because I have done some wrong from them or for the school, but challenged the leader very openly and very aggressively. That caused this and now I understand that ANGER is not for any good many times, but not always bad.
There will be times I have to express anger while defending the Truth & innocent.
If I mearly watch, what is the difference between me & Dog. They are living and I am also living. What makes the difference.
I am not a dog, god gave me senses and heart and mind to make right decisions and chose my own choice whether it is good or bad and I have to face the consequences.
Thanks though for your kind answer brother,
        Chinna.

Your home country consulate should help you return to your home country.

You do not understand the function of students at US universities. When you are a student is is very poor judgement to challange the faculty. They hold your future in their hands. You will get a poor recommendation - or none at all. Recommendations are essential to both further study and jobs in the US. Without exceptional recommendations, you will have few opportunities.

You have shown very poor judgement. You most likely have destroyed your future in the US with the aggressive attitude that you describe.

I have read a similar story from another student on another forum couple of months ago. He was a biology PhD student and was not level headed as well. There is a difference between being a human being and tolerating stuff and reacting when the moment is right. You did not wait for that moment but got carried away unfortunately.

A person a H1b doesn't like his boss, he can't go to a meeting and mouth off unless he is ready to pack the bags and go home if need be, in case s/he gets fired. An intelligent person would get another job, transfer his H1b, show his finger and walk off.

Think before you leap and be responsible. There is not much you can do at this point in time other than go back to your country if you lost the F1 status.

I am so thankful that there are some people who can rightly judge my case and give few words of guidence.
That's great, I'll catch you guys later when I found what is my next step.
                Until then enjoy life,
                Chinna.

                    Friend C4us!
It is not something new that happened in my life friend.
But I didn't learn from the past mistakes.
When I was in TOP premier university in India at master's level I did not agree with guide because he was asking me to take dissertation which is supposed to be done by chemist, not chemical engineer.
But finally he warned me like (I will see...) and made me do that any way.
Thanks you for clarifying about the consulate,
                    Chinna.
