Dental problem- Visa expired

I am working on my OPT and my H1 will be applied in Apr 2009. My visa expired on May 2008.

I have dental problems and would want to go to India for surgery. But coming back to the USA I would have to get a VISA in F1-opt.

Will that be a problem?

What can I do under this situation?

Not advisable since F1 may be rejected.
You are however most probably eligible for your university's insurance scheme, see if that covers dental costs, same goes with your employer's insurance.

How can I renew my visa without going out of USA. Can you please throw some light onto this?
