Hello, I am F-1 student attending college and been here in U.S. for a year. When I came here first I opened a checking a/c with Washington Mutual Bank. A month ago their were some overdraft fees charged to my a/c, which was a ridiculous amount. I disputed with the bank and said that I will pay the balance in monthly installments. The amount was $225.00. I was very disappointed with the bank; I opened a/c with another institution. Yesterday I went to the new bank to withdraw money and I was informed that my a/c is closed due to fraud. Washington Mutual has informed this to my new bank and also they said I want be bale to open a checking a/c anymore in the U.S. I just want to pay off Washington mutual the whole amount now. Will this have any bearing on my immigration status. If I go home vacation and retuning back to U.S., will I have any problem at the port of entry. Please help.

Banks are all on a system. If one bank reports a default, no other bank will open an account for you in many instances.
Talk to your bank and tell them that you will pay the dues provided they remove the negative feedback on you.
As far as immigration consequences go, it is questionable.
