F1 Visa Expired, OPT valid & have to go India for a month ...!!!

Hi Friends

My F1 visa has expired in July 2008 and My OPT has started in OCT 2008 and valid up to the OCT 2009.
I am working now and want to go to India in FEB for a month.
I am attending the Visa extension at Tijuana, MX on Jan 7th
what are the precautions i need to take for attending the visa Extension ?
Please give me any suggestions or problems that i might face ..

Do you have a job in the field of your study?

I think they will ask you to visit Indian consulate anyway.
Also, remember there is a risk involved because they may reject the renewal based on potential immigrant.
You have to prove non-immigrant intent by property, family ties etc.

I hold an MBA in Project management, and i am working as a SAP FICO Functional Consultant. I am working the Finance area.. only.
Do you think this is a different field of work for the VISA officer.
I have all the documents... Client letter, Consultant letter, Payroll, I-20 and Bank Balance sheet.. OPT is Valid till OCT - 09.

F1 VISA expired (OPT valid) travel to India

Hi,
Can we get the F1 extension (VISA stamping) in a third country ( apart from our home country)?
I am also in the exact situation as I my OPT started since Aug 08 and I am working in a biotech company ( my M.S. is in biotech) and I have to go to India anytime from now to Feb 1st because of family emergency.
My visa is expired.
How are chances of getting visa extension in India? I have all the papers ( valid I-20, Job letter, pay stubs etc)
Please advise me.
