    F1 Visa Sponsor

    My niece who is in Doha, Qatar will be applying for her F1 Visa soon. I am here in US and wants to know if I should send an Affidavit of support to show sufficient funding even though her dad will be sponsoring her tution. Her dad is planning to show 1 year worth of tution and his employment letter as proof of funding. Will my sponsorship help or affect her chances of getting visa? She will be pursuing her undergraduate studies. She has good SAT score and TOEFL.

    She needs to show liquid funds for 1 year according to the I-20. For showing strong ties she should show property in her home country. If all the requirement as per I-20 is met already, then you need not show your funds.
