consequences of a rejected F1 visa renewal applications

Hi there,

If somebody working in US on a OPT/EAD/F1 status goes to india to get F1 renewed and loses the job in the meantime, will the visa renewal application will also get rejected.

What are the long term consequences of getting the visa application rejected ? Will that person be able to get work or business visas to US in future ?

As long as your school is aware of the situation you should be fine. However, that's why I usually advice to start OPT first and then go outside of the country for any reason.

Let me rephrase the question. The person mentioned already has a EAD card which came after OPT and is currently on F1 visa which got expired and since the person has to go to india, in order to come back he has to renew F1 visa. In the meantime the company that he works for fired him and his visa application is stuck in TAL case and undergoing verification. Has anybody else faced this type of situation and what are the chances that the person will get a visa ?

On a general note, if the visa gets rejected, how does it affect future visa applications from that person ?
