Urgent please.....Travelling to india while on OPT

Hi friends,

I finished my master's in December2008 now am on my OPT and I want to go to India on February 10th and want to come back on march 16th and roght now am not working any where but i have an offer letter stated that my employment starts from March 23rd 2009. Once i come back from India i want to apply fr H1.
And also i have a valid passport, valid visa till 2011 and got travel signature couple of months back.
How safe is to go to India??

please suggest me if i need to take any other documents for returning to US.

I was advised not to travel on OPT. It is better to have a job in hand and be on H1 and then travel. But if you need to travel, ask your employer to give a letter confirming your employment with title and compensation and that you will be back to work for them.
