I got my OPT extension and now I am in 17 months additional OPT extension period. My prospective employer is E-Verified. Now if he decides to hire me, does he have to again check my work eligibility?

What is procedure now?

Employer always has to check for your eligibility to work. I am not sure I understand your question. You need to inform your ISO about change in employers.
