Going to US on F-1 in this recession

Is it a good idea to come to US as a F-1 student in this recession period.

You are going to study, not to work, so why not?

Depends. If you are hoping for an on campus job or TA/RA, many of the people that already hold such jobs might be delaying graduation thereby ruining the prospects of new students.
