Anyone having both H4 and F1 Visa ?

Hi,
My wife was on H4 visa. She went to went to India to get an F1 Visa to pursue her Master's program. Her F1 got approved, however the consulate officer mentioned that since H4 is still vaild, it's not required to be cancelled. All she has to do is to show her F1 visa papers at Port of Entry in US ?

Has any one faced similar sitiation before ? Will there be an issue later on if she has both kinds of Visa ?

Not at all an issue to be worried about. In fact, it allows for greater flexibility.

When she enters, she needs to make sure that she gets the correct I94 showing F1 D/S.
