H4 to F1 with approved I140

Hi,

My spouse had a valid I140, with my name in it.

I have an H4 visa. Now I will be joining college this fall. I want to change my visa from H4 to F1. Will it be a problem?

I want to state the reason for change of status as - to be able to work part time during my study.

Since you've shown intent to immigrate, it may be difficult to get a F1 visa stamp. Although don't quote me on this.

Lately, the immihelp forum has very low reply traffic. I wonder if there is some other popular forum out there which is overriding immihelp.
